Commissioned from Norway, the task was to design a poster and programme for a puppet performance called "Hunger".

Based on the novel by Norwegian author Knut Hamsun, the story is about a writer suffering from writers block. His situation worsens when lack of food and comfort triggers dillusionary episodes as he struggles to regain his creative flow.

Fortunately we had access to the puppets and were able to take our own photographs for this project. The lead puppet is so striking, that by adding a background wall with extracts from the novel and the title to symbolise the chaotic thoughts of the writer, there was little else needed to create strong and enticing imagery to advertise the performance.
